We want to create watches that are deeply satisfying to wear. As such, we are every bit as obsessive about the aesthetics of watch design as we are about the aesthetics of the movement inside.
Inspired by the concept of “advanced,” “innovative” and “cutting edge,” the look of our mechanical models combines strength and sharpness to express their role as the embodiment of Citizen Watch Group’s new direction.

 

Casing

A boldly shaped case with no lugs:
The embodiment of innovation

Made up of multiple strong facets and without any lugs, the case design embodies the advanced, innovative and cutting-edge concept. The whole design is characterised by a series of clean, sharp surfaces extending from case to bracelet. Rough hairline and mirror finishes are juxtaposed both to display the solid stainless steel to best advantage and to give the watch the sharp tactility of an industrial product. Thanks to the play of light on the case and bracelet, the watch has tremendous presence on the wrist.

Small Seconds

A commitment to accuracy
expressed by the small seconds

The small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock is one of the essential aesthetic features of the mechanical movement. By separating out the second hand and giving greater visual weight to the second as a unit of time, this construction immediately focuses attention on the movement of the second hand and evokes a strong sense of precision. The relatively large size of the sub-dial and the sharp second hand only serve to reinforce this message.

 

Dial

A richly expressive dial
born of cutting-edge technology

The main dial also expresses the same concept of advanced, innovative and cutting edge.
The sand-ripple pattern on the black dial is created through electroforming, an advanced electrodeposition technology. The dial’s uneven surface creates little shadows, generating subtle changes of tone against its monotone black background. Meanwhile, the white dial evokes a sea of clouds, another design element borrowed from the natural world.
The Caliber 0210 model has the same design as the Caliber 0200 model but is also equipped with a date function.
